Once upon a day

By and by
the days left with a simper
stifled beneath a grateful smile
those soft ground
the gentle breeze that use to whisper
melodies and songs of belonging
and for a moment, ever such a moment
one was not alone in a crowd
but just another face
though glinting and hinting of otherness
fitted with a rough seam into the fabric
and by and by
those days of reliving the past
of sensing the strong roots,
one has returned
absorbed back into days that were once
and will continue to be

(And I am back! From my three week hiatus, a.k.a holiday. It was fun, hectic, and highly promising on some fronts, but, have to say, I think it spoiled the writing habit I had started indulging in… Yikes, back to the drawing board then!)
