Summer goes

Geez. Don’t know how this is gonna go. Started out as an exercise in using a common writing advice for a creative piece and this is what my hazy brain did. Enjoy the odd turn indeed!

Here is ‘Summer Goes

Don’t tell me the moon is shining,

show me the glint of light dancing on the still pond.

Don’t say the end of summer is here,

I hear the golden leaves crunch beneath measured feet.

Don’t say the word I cannot hear,

I see the dread spread across your face.

Don’t say the love is gone,

something says it was never there.

The moon shines brightly this evening,

I, am lost for words.

The love gone cold, in the breeze of summer old.

It still yearns. That old heart of yours.

For summer. For life warm with glow…

Cold winter flows.
