Hey hey, folks,
So, I’ve been busy the last couple of days trying to get a grasp of Photoshop for the purpose of becoming my own concept artist. I revealed to you yesterday the cover design for a short story I’m experimenting with at the moment.
Here it is again (*squeals* cause it turned out quite good)…
Then last night, obsessive-compulsively, I started to make one for a Beauty and the Beast reimagining I’m finishing off, a short tale with about 7-8 chapters, called, The Keeper. I had this idea in my mind of how I wanted the image on the cover to look. It took me ages to scour royalty free images I could experiment with, and then it took me equally long to try and put an image together. I had to enlist the help of hubby, tearing him away from his gaming, to put a glowing red eye in the image. Let’s just say we both failed, cause A) I only know how to use select tools, and B) he hasn’t used the software in over 2-3 years (cause he doesn’t need for his work in Post-Production in huge films. Yes he’s lucky and works hard, so there is that!)
So, frustrated, I deleted the whole thing and started from scratch, trying to tell myself ‘keep it simple, stupid’. Just now, I’ve spent about an hour fiddling with it to get it to what it looks like. Fairly happy with it, I have to say.
And voila — here it is.
Thoughts, anyone? I welcome any feedback and suggestions!
